Fictional Crisis Committee: Harry Potter

COMMITTEE DESCRIPTION

To add an element of levity for delegates wanting a less political environment or in this case something with a bit more magic, we will be introducing the Fictional Crisis Committee. The theme for this committee is Harry Potter, so complete your research by reading or rereading the eight books and watching the movies over 19 hours and 39 minutes. The country matrix has been adjusted for delegates to take on the role of each unique character, forming blocks according to the Four Houses of Hogwarts. There is no position paper required for this committee as this is a crisis committee and the twists will be introduced on the day of the event for delegates to embody their inner wizards and witches and brew potions or master spells to prevent the disaster impending the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

TOPIC DESCRIPTION: The Triwizard Tournament Twist

Sonorus, gather 'round, witches, wizards, and magical creatures! The hallowed halls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry echo with anticipation as the Triwizard Tournament commences. Three perilous tasks await our champions, each more treacherous than the last. But beware—the enchanted waters of the Black Lake conceal secrets, the ancient maze conceives riddles, and the dragon's fiery breath tests courage. Yet amidst the bewitching chaos, an unforeseen twist emerges an uninvited guest and a vanished champion. Who dares disrupt the balance of magic? As the stars align and destinies entwine, our committee embarks on a quest to untangle the enigma, uncover hidden truths, and rewrite the course of wizarding history.

Aikamjot Bagri | Director

As a junior at Khalsa Secondary School, Aikamjot is honoured to serve as the Director of FCC at the first Iteration of KSMUN. From attending her first conference as France in UNODC having no clue what to do, to being the Emergency Preparedness Minister in the House of Commons and having to listen to all of the 100+ amendments made in one standing committee session by the opposition party leader to the resolution paper, which consisted of amendments such as “s” placed here or taken out there, to helping arrange this conference, she has grown a lot along the way. Outside of Model UN, Aikam loves reading books, doing kirtan, playing soccer, hanging out with her family and cousins, and furthering her skills in gatka. She can not wait for the first iteration of KSMUN , and wants to ensure an unforgettable experience for all delegates, helping create new memories and friends as she has made many of her own in MUN.
